Phoenix is a very attractive town and is a popular vacation spot for families and 20-somethings. The numerous shopping centers and world-class spas draw elite customers from all over the world. Phoenix definitely does not have the glitz and glamour of Los Angeles, but it has definitely managed to carve a niche of its own in the US tourism industry. But what are the reasons for which we have fallen in love with this town in Arizona?

The Proximity

The best thing about Phoenix is that it is very close to places which are so different from this town. You can simply drive to California, Northern Arizona or Las Vegas in just a quarter of a day or so.

Phoenix Zoo

If you are an avid animal lover then you must visit the Phoenix Zoo. It is a great tourist attraction which should keep your kids busy for at least a couple of hours. The four trails pass through a number of habitats spread over this 125-acre facility. The kids will love the petting zoo and the Butterfly Pavilion. If you get tired then you can hop on the 30-minute safari tour which will take you around the whole zoo. The Phoenix Zoo timings can be found from the website. The entry charges are $16 for adults and there is no entry fee for children under 3 years of age.

The Winter Months

Not many people are aware that winter is that time of the year when people in all other places across the country would have to wear at least a jacket and probably slide walk around on ice too. The Phoenix winter is tricky but pleasant. You may put on a sweatshirt during the morning and day but at night you may want take off that sweatshirt of yours. This is Phoenix winter for you.

Heard Museum

Phoenix Heard Museum

There are only a handful of places in Arizona which can boast of a world class museum. Phoenix is one of those as it houses the Heard Museum, which attracts both history and art lovers. The museum is fully air-conditioned, and the exhibits here are simply spectacular. It is the first Native American Museum in the US and gives a valuable insight into the original residents of the State of Arizona. The exhibits display Contemporary and pre-Columbian Art along with a huge variety of traditional artifacts. If you want to learn about the Native American lives and their culture then you surely won’t be disappointed. The museum is located just north of downtown Phoenix and the admission charges vary as per age.

The Sheer Beauty of this Place

To put it in simple words, Phoenix is one of the most beautiful places in the US and in the world. It is basically a valley and on both sides of it one will only find rows and rows of mountains. There are some random mountains in the middle of Phoenix too, which makes this place so special. The Phoenix Mountains Preserve and Camelback Mountains is right in the middle of a neighborhood with beautiful houses all around. The region of South Mountain, too, is well worth a visit. If you are here on a vacation or on a business trip, take some time out to get mesmerized by the beautiful sunsets when the sky turns purple & orange.
